Black Samurai Plakat Betta Fish (Male)

Live male Black Samurai plakat betta. Plakats are the short-finned type of betta, closer in shape to wild bettas than the long-finned varieties. This makes them active swimmers and less prone to fin damage. The Black Samurai has a black body covered in dark, metallic-looking scales that catch the light as the fish moves.

Males are territorial and will fight other male bettas, so keep one male per tank. Do not house him with fin-nipping fish or brightly coloured fish with long fins. A tank of 5 litres or more with a lid works well, kept at around 24 to 28°C with a small heater in winter. Bettas prefer still or slow-moving water, so use a gentle filter or none at all. Change part of the water every week.

Feed small amounts of betta pellets or frozen food once or twice a day, only what he can eat in a couple of minutes. Bettas breathe air from the surface, so leave a small gap between the water and the lid. The fish is delivered live and packed for travel. Delivery is free.
